Are IUDS safe?

Comment if you've had an experience with an IUD and which one is best!

I just got my Mirena Removed on 12/26. I had it for a year and a half after my son was born. I would honestly get Mirena again even after some of the complications. While I had Mirena in, I only spotted...never had a full blown period & my spotting only lasted 2-3 days and never enough to fill up a whole pantiliner. The only downside to having it in was I consistently got UTI's & I had a cyst plus a daughter cyst on my right ovary (I didn't even know about it until.i went to the ER for a severe UTI and they did a scan because my now husband's gut feeling was like "something isn't right".) But I honestly would get Mirena again. I took it out because me and my husband are TTC.

I react badly to hormones in contraceptives so I have a copper IUD. Just like all contraceptives it's not 100% but it's as safe as other contraceptives. My period is worse but that's a known side effect from the copper one.

all birth controls come with risks so it's really important to read what those are and if you're okay with them. I used Mirena and I loved it while it caused problems for some other women.
