So my step daughter is 8 years old and I've been in her life since she was about 18 months old. We've never had any issues with her until now. She stole some gift cards from her grandmas house on Christmas and straight lied to me and her dad, right to our face over and over again and kept changing her story about these gift cards. This went on for 2 days. She finally confessed when she went back to her moms house. Her mom told us this isn't the first time she's done this. It's becoming a new trend. But it's the first time she's done anything like this around us. We get her back Monday. We don't know how to handle her or how to punish her. Any suggestions? Her mom has spanked her, grounded her, taken all her toys and she's still doing it. We don't know how to handle it.
