Pregnant or period coming up?

I had unprotected sex many times this month but I took a pregnancy test and it took an hour to give me a negative result. I've been worried and had sex again using spermicide pills and now for a week I've had cramps. My period is a week late. Is it coming up soon or am I pregnant?
