Can our babies eat corn?

Question

So many older people tell me they shouldn’t have corn and idk why?? It’s in some of the purées so why not? I’ve been picking it out of her dinners because I’ve been confused.
I always forget to ask the doctor!

Yes, corn is fine. The only big no no is honey until our babies turn 1 shortly. They can eat everything else as long as choking hazards are eliminated (cutting grapes in half/quarters etc).

Corn, beans, & rice seem to be the only things mine will eat lol; she refuses any baby food now and wont eat anything pureed. Shes fine and corn is ok :)

Corn is fine to eat. It just doesn’t get digested well (which is why we see whole kernels in our poop). I had the same conversation when my mom tried telling me I should wait to feed it to my son, but I thought the same thing: then why is it in baby food? 🤔 My son gets mixed veggies (corn, carrots, peas) multiple times a week. He LOVES it!

I think people are afraid of corn because the kernels can be tough to chew. If they are cooked or steamed long enough, or even canned corn, the corn turns soft and easier to chew.

I’ve been giving my son corn, beans, peas and things like that since maybe 7 months or so..I was very cautious at first and still cut it half if it’s like.. a huge bean but no, they’re fine, one of my convince go to foods is frozen or canned corn, peas and such!
