Mono question

So a past boyfriend of mine currently has mono. The last time I kissed him was in July 2017 and I’ve also given oral sex, the last time being in June 2017 as well. I did some research on mono, so I’m pretty sure I don’t need to take any tests at this point considering the last time I interacted with him sexually was 5-6 months ago. I was wondering if anyone has advice on if I should get a test or if there are any precautions I should take in case there’s the possibility I could get mono.
