Does anyone else feel pressured to stop breastfeeding before they are ready?

My son will be a year old in 2 weeks. I'm ready to stop pumping, but I want to continue breastfeeding. I feel like my husband, family and coworkers think I'm weird for not stopping at 12 months or shortly after. I'm not ready to wean. 😩

I haven't even started yet and I have people telling me that I wont want to do it, that formula is just easier and why bother 🙃

I'm gonna let my baby wean himself. I've had people tell me that I shouldn't do it past the age of 1 and asking if he's on formula yet (he's only 12 weeks). He's gaining weight well and feeds efficiently so why would I stop when I don't need to. it's rude

My husband tried telling me a few months ago that once our son turns one I'm weaning him. I told him I'm mot and he has no say or control over that. He turned one the other day and he's nowhere close to being ready to be weaned. I'm letting him decide and I don't care what other people think

You don’t have to stop breastfeeding until you’re ready.
At 1 year I decreased, then stopped pumping at work, so I just breastfed in the morning and evening. With a month, that was down to once before bedtime, and he slowly lost interest from there.

I didn’t stop until a month before my daughter turned two. I got smart remarks from my mil and my husband would say she’s too old a lot but I just ignored it. She wasn’t ready and honestly I wasn’t either. She started weaning herself too.
