There isn’t a better or a worse, they are for different uses depending on the woman, and the pregnancy.

I get to become a first time mom by c-section. I have no real choice in the matter. Medically the best way for me to have my child is by c-section. It’s better for both her and I. But the doctor decided that because medically he’s going to do what will keep both the mother and child safe. It’s abdominal surgery though dude. Behind that curtain they are gutting you like a fish, luckily you can feel or see it. And the recovery from what I have heard is terrible for the majority of women. (I’ve heard a few who swear they were better in a few days)

But at the end, you and baby are happy and healthy. You also get drugs after that made my friend hallucinate unicorns in the recovery room. Ahh Rainbows!

Vaginal birth? Same basic idea. You get to feel more bonded. You feel more in control and there are so many wonderful options that vaginal birth brings. If I could do it safely? I would, with an epidural because I’m a baby bitch and very mean and angry when I’m in pain. So I turn into Satan’s spawn pretty much. The recovery can be quicker, then again my mom took months to recover from each of her kids, it might explain why I never got a younger sibling. You push, you push, and then....

You and baby are both happy and healthy.

If there is a complication, you might still end up with the c-section.

Both are the wonder of childbirth. At the end, you have your baby.

That being said. Dude, your a first time mom and if you have no medical conditions to state otherwise, most doctors will laugh at you if try to get an elective c-section. Some will do it, your insurance may or may not cover it. I’m pretty sure your best option to begin the pregnancy planning for us vaginal birth, but read up on c-sections if that’s what you are sure you want, or just because In emergencies you could still get one.
