Call around to medical supply stores. my doc wrote one for me a 31 weeks since I want to exclusively pump and out the effective date as immediately. I dealt with some really poor service and rude stores that told me there is no reason to need one early. Really? If baby can't latch/you exclusively pump/can't leave your house/have an over supply/have a medical issue, you may want a pump immediately. Call until you find someone who can get one right away.

I got mine through insurance, it was fully covered, super easy, and came around 48 weeks (baby was born at 41). My lactation consultant had me pumping from day one to increase my supply, so I’m glad I had it

My hospital had them and my hubby went down there with my insurance card and got it. Ask your OB if you can do that.

I got mine through my insurance they told me they would not ship until a month before due date but i ordered around 28 weeks and it was ready the next day (ordered through Target). If you have insurance call them and have them give you a list of companies they work with for pumps :) good luck!!

If your insurance doesn't cover a pump get the Hakka, it's under $20 on Amazon. Manual pump that you can use while nursing.

I highly recommend going through aeroflowbreastpumps.com if you’re using insurance to get your pump! They were absolutely amazing and dealt with my insurance for me and ordering the pump was super easy. I ordered it and got it within 3 days! Last pregnancy I was told I had to wait until after the baby was born (which ended up being a load of BS) and I ended up getting a terrible case of mastitis because baby had a bad latch and wasn’t emptying me fast enough. I already have my pump this time, and my back up pump just in case!

My insurance fully covers a pump. Several friend told me they’d likely make me wait until I have the baby to ship it, but I called around 25 weeks or so and had it the next week!
