Should domestic violence victims be allowed to fake their own deaths to escape?

So I’m watching a movie called “Til death do us part” and the woman in the video Madison has a husband who eventually becomes abusive towards her and she cannot leave him. He is very rich and took control of her life.

She eventually became pregnant because he forcefully gave her a baby because another man looked at her. So as her pregnancy progressed he became increasingly more violent towards her.

Now she has a best friend that she has known for forever so they devised a plan to fake her death so she can leave safely and keep her baby out of harms way.

Now I haven’t watched the entire movie yet and I’m just getting to the juicy part. But if a man is powerful and willing to kill his wife and possibly their child or children of death is her only way out should be she legally allowed to fake her death and assume another identity?

I want to add that restraining orders do not work and there have been cases in which it only makes things worse.

Also what if the husband is a cop or lawyer or judge of some political figure with power then what?
