What oatmeal is best to start my 6 month old son on?

I was going to avoid grains although and I am definitely skipping out on the rice cereal but he does need something a little bit sturdier to help with his sleep since he barely sleeps so I wanted to start with oatmeal. Can someone please let m know what the best oatmeal is to start on and how the best way to prepare and how much to serve a 6 month old who’s about 20 pounds

Edit: my son barely sleeps he needs something more filling. I didn’t ask what people opinion was on it I asked how to prepare it and what kind I should use. I get it’s a myth that it makes them sleep more but he needs something heavier to be able to sleep better. So please don’t criticize or say anything unless you are answering my question on which oatmeal is best

Cereal probably won’t help with sleep. It’s empty calories, most likely it’ll make baby toss and turn more because of the extra work to digest it.

Cereal doesn't make them sleep more, that's a myth, just so you know. It's a developmental thing. My son is one and still doesn't sit sleep through the night.

I started with avocado, it has good fats and nutrition. Baby loved it and it seemed easy on his tummy.

My daughter ate the gerber brand oatmeal. You find it right next to the baby rice cereals in the grocery store! 😊

Holle has a great oatmeal porridge, we use that as well as their millet porridge. our son loves it!

i mix the porridge with breastmilk, but you can use formula or water as well. my son is 6 months old, he only eats about a tablespoon full. He also enjoys it when I add about a teaspoon full of fruit puree to the porridge.

We used Beech Nut oatmeal with a little cinnamon and my daughter absolutely loved it.

I was told by my pediatrician to not use gerber bc it has cows milk protein in it... and she recommended Beech Nut or Earths Best. I use Earths Best... I mix a tablespoon with about an ounce of formula or breastmilk.

My daughter eats what I eat. Normal organic porridge oats. And prepared the same way (with water) since she was 6 months.
