We moved into a 3 B/R house. We used his in the main and mine in the spare room. Although that was 4 years ago now so everything that was once his and mine is now ours. 
Who’s bed is newer? More comfortable? Is it only a 1 B/R house? Can you take both and use one as a spare?

unless he has a king size bed I'm just gonna sleep alone in my own bed because I need lots of space when I sleep

I owned a double sized bed with a new mattress. 
He owned a twin size bed with a mattress from high school. 
We kept mine! 😀
