Is it selfish of me to only want me and my husband to be in the delivery room?

Is anyone else keeping the birth of your child private and personal? Why?

If you’re inviting your mom/mother-in-law (whoever you are closer with) to the delivery room, may I ask why?

I have apparently devastated one of the above when I told her I only wanted my husband in the delivery room with me. And although my husband understands why, he doesn’t agree, but won’t push me to change my mind.

What about prenatal checkups. Is it normal for the grandparent to go to some of the ultrasound appointments?
