When did you start your baby on solids/cereal?

6 Months, because that’s the point when the intestines are matured enough to process solids. There is a natural reason that at that period of time a baby learns to sit. Your baby needs to be able to sit to eat (from a biological point of view), because it needs to be able to cough the food out if needed. 
And a little heads up, around 3 or 4 months your baby will be looking at all the food you’ll put in your mouth. People will tell you your baby is ready to eat because of that, but They are wrong. A baby naturally wants to put everything in his mouth to explore and taste. If you give it a 💩 your baby will put that in his or her mouth too. This has nothing to do with when he or she is physically able to process food. 👍🏻

We were given the okay at 4 months but didn’t start until 6 months because babies stomachs aren’t ready for foods before then. And we never did cereal. We went right into baby led weaning. You should always wait until your pediatrician gives you the okay.

My doctor recommended waiting until 6 months and to be honest, I wasn’t in a rush. They don’t need it so i figures it didn’t really matter.

I started at 4 months per doctor recommendation, initally she ate it great, but then she’d just cry whenever we’d try so I stopped & we started with fruits & veggies at 6 months & she’s a great eater

Waited until 6 months at my doctor’s recommendation. I really don’t think my baby would have been ready at all before that.

My Dr recommended cereal at 4 months because Little Man was not taking enough milk with the sitter. I dropped him off at 7:45/8 and picked him up by 4, he was only taking maybe 1-3 oz a day when there. So the pediatrician mentioned cereal mixed with breastmilk to get more in him. It sort of worked. We waited until 6 months for much else since he was not really interested in solids. It took him a long time to really like to eat food though.

We started cereal because her doctor wanted her to have the iron since she's breast fed. Also doing vegetables as well. She's almost 5 months. Been doing it for about 3 weeks now. But talk with your doctor about it first.
