When to schedule a doc appointment?

I found out yesterday that I am pregnant. When should I schedule my first appointment? I know they usually do a scan or something around 8 weeks. Is it too early to call and schedule it now that way they aren’t booked up?

I will call right away since the schedule at most OBs can get pretty full. Also they may want to do a blood test.

You can call now and they’ll book your appointment for whenever they are ready to see you. I called at 4 weeks and they made me an appointment for when I was between 8-9 weeks.

I didn’t call right away because I knew they wouldn’t see my until 7-8 weeks. I also didn’t do a blood draw to verify, they just asked if I had a home pregnancy test that was positive and then made my appointment for 7 weeks pregnant.
