Antibiotics and birth control???

When I was first put on birth control my doctor said I was safe to have sex after the first week. I started taking antibiotics today which will last ten days. After the ten days when will I be protected again ??

General antibiotics do not usually have an effect on hormonal birth control. If they can vomiting or diarrhea, that can lessen the effectiveness of your contraception.
