Gestational Diabetes

ka

Tonight at work (I work in a hospital.) I went into respiratory distress at 22+4. My HR was 140, blood pressure was high and temp 102. I had to have a Breathing treatment. They diagnosed me with influenza A. During my visit, I gave them a urine sample and blood. My blood glucose came back at 88 which is normal. However, they said I was passing a lot of sugar into my urine which is an early indicator of gestational diabetes. I’m worried because I know that can cause preterm labor among other complications. The odd part is they test glucose in my urine at the doctors office and they have always been negative.. I do plan to follow up with my OB. But to ease my mind since it’s almost 6am and they don’t open for a few more hours. I wanted to hear from moms who have experience with GD. How it’s affected you/baby/delivery. If you’ve had to be induced early, and what you do to help control it. Thanks ladies!
