Does family history of miscarriage (or not) matter?

Question

I.e. If you had a mom that had miscarriages, does that up your chances of one? 
If your mom had multiple children with no miscarriages, does that mean you may be the same way?
I heard other factors like age, previous abortions & medical conditions influence it, but was wonder if anyone noticed they ended up being like their mom, grandma, and so on...

My mom and sister never had a miscarriage. I had 2. I’m pregnant again now( 6 weeks) and I really hope the loosing babies thing stops now!

I went to see a genetic counselor and it could if there is a chromosomal reason behind the miscarriages. My grandma, maternal aunts, and I have all had multiple miscarriages. They tested my chromosomes and everything was fine so if that was the reason for my family miscarrying then it wasn't the reason for mine since I didn't inherit that. However I was put on progesterone for the first trimester and this pregnancy is going well so far. I don't know if anyone else in my family had low progesterone but we couldn't determine that was the cause for either of my miscarriages. 
But yes, family history plays a factor. When it comes to chromosomes it could also be on the paternal side as well. There are a lot of factors. But miscarriage is very common and unfortunately can be considered by doctors to be normal.

I am the first in my family to have a miscarriage. I’m in my 20’s active and healthy. It was my first pregnancy. I’m sure family history may have something to do with it, however it can happen to anyone. The most important part is staying positive and that’s what I’m trying to do since I recently got my first bfp after my miscarriage! 🤞🏼 ❤️

my mother had miscarriage after miscarriage and even a few still borns. she was told she would never be able to have children even with the help of different medicines. they had me 8 years after they adopted my sister and gave up on having a child of "their own". I've only been pregnant twice,  my first was my daughter and she is 7.5 now and I'm currently 28 weeks and everything is going well. I don't think genetics always play a part but I'm sure they can

idk i mean almost everyone i know has had a miscarriage. my mom had a miscarriage so did my sister and i did too

Nope, it does not. Every pregnancy is different. Everyone's body is different. My mom had 6 kids..all vaginally. My 2 sisters have had 4 kids each vaginally.. my oldest has has 2 miscarriages. Ive had one child via csection and one mc. All of us are different.

That 25% chance eh... This is my first time TTC/pregnant and reading others' stories kind of made me scared. My mom had 3 kids (2 unplanned) with no miscarriages so I guess I was hoping her experience would encourage me to think optimistic... but I wonder, in extreme cases if there's a link?
