Would you date someone with herpes?

I’m sorry if I come across as shallow and I don’t wanna shame anyone who has it, I just wanna hear other opinions. I personally wouldn’t. I’m not into dating at all and that would put me off even more. I know it can lie dormant for years and you could have it without knowing about it and you can also control the breakouts with medication. Even with all that, I wouldn’t risk catching herpes and having it for the rest of my life from a partner that would probably not be around forever. Nevermind having to tell all of my future partners about it and possibly pass it onto them too. I’m still young and I can’t see myself being able to deal deal with it.

My husband told me he had HSV on our first date (we had been talking online for a while before meeting and it seemed like we’d be likely to do things requiring him to disclose). Almost 3 years later, and I still don’t have it. We don’t use condoms, and we never have sex if he’s having an active breakout or in the days following. I’m 13w pregnant, and I’ve been tested several times during routine bloodwork, and I don’t have any of the antibodies. It’s not a death sentence. It’s not always transferable. If they take their medicine and don’t have sexual contact during breakouts, it can totally be contained. I’m glad I didn’t let that ruin things for us. He’s the most fantastic partner I could ask for!

I think if they are up front and honest about it then I wouldn't write them off completely because what? 1 in 6 adults has an STD? and sometimes the circumstances aren't what you would think they are they might have got it from someone who didn't tell them 🤷
I'm just saying I'd probably choose someone with herpes over baby momma drama and both are just as common as the other.

I knew a guy (bfs old friend) who was such an asshole about talking shit on people who had herpes (not saying you are) but Idk why he was really freaked out by that STD.... anyway, he did this around me and my bf and finally I said, look man, I have herpes. I’ve had it a long time. Sometimes you get things and you move on with your life, stop bringing it up! 
He stopped talking shit about it around me. 
But his gf and him separated for a while and she contracted his worst nightmare while they were separated, herpes. Now they’re back together and I bet he has a different view on it now.  
My point is 1 in 3, use protection to help but just know it could happen to anyone and it can happen to you. Luckily there are meds and honestly, I have no more outbreaks after years of having it. I’ve had vaginal births with zero complications and yeah, my bf doesn’t have it and we’ve been together almost 6 years. I remember when I had to tell him on our first real date..... 
If someone loves you, they will cope with it!That’s what I learned. Time to remove the stigma though

I have herpes (only on my mouth) but I got it from my grandmother when I was 5. It was a complete accident I drank after her when she had one and got it. I have never had a problem dating. actually I had a huge one on my first date with my now fiance he didn't mind at all. we just didn't kiss until it went away. It is very inconvenient but I don't think it should be a deal breaker. however I would respect anyone's decision it's there body.
