Anyone else absolutely terrified to give birth? This is my first baby and I have nightmares about the birth. Heck, I was afraid to get my blood drawn! 😩

My favorite line from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - “My philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice.” I keep telling myself that women have been giving birth for as long as humans have been around, and that our bodies are made for this. I’ll be surrounded by medical professionals and my supportive husband, and I’ll hold my son in my arms when it’s over. It’ll only last a short time - though it may feel like forever, a few days is really nothing when you compare it to how long life is! This is my first living baby, and I have no idea what to expect. But I know I can do this, with or without an epidural or other pain management. You got this!

I was very scared with my first, I had to be induced and it took 2 days before she came out. I almost had to have a c-section because she wasn’t coming out but made it after 3 hours of pushing.
I would 100% do it again (which is good because I will be in a few months). Every minute of labor was worth it, and you do absolutely forget how it was as soon as you see your sweet baby. You can do this!!!!

With my first I wasn't scared at all since I didn't know what to expect. This time around I'm prepared of what's coming and somehow that is giving me crazy anxiety. Lol

Before my first I had a fear of needles. During the process nothing bothered me, and now I am just like eh when I see needles. I feel like the anticipation makes it seem way worse then it actually is.

With my first, I just ignored the birth part until I was in it. I read birth stories on here and a few things about breathing exercises, but I couldn’t look at diagram, pictures, videos or anything. Luckily, I had a great nurse in Labor & Delivery and she was a saint and walked me through everything. My point, it’s okay to be terrified, baby will still get here and if you’re having a hospital birth, you’ll be surrounded by trained professionals who are there to help!

I’m very nervous this time around, my first was 6 weeks early and was just over 4lbs I had her completely natural. No time for ANYTHING. Not even an IV. They were actually tying to get it in while I was pushing Incase anything happened to me. My labor was very painful and scary. My husband wasn’t able to be there because he was away. So doing it alone was terrifying. Of course you forget the pin almost immediately because you have to focus on that beautiful baby but I as I get closer to my due date I remember the pain and am imagining that doubled, well if this baby goes to term. I can’t imagine giving birth to a larger baby then what my daughter was...I’m just nervous for a “full term” labor. 😩

I was so scared with my first, but it turned out to be unfounded. I had an amazing experience even though it wasn’t what I thought it would be. I had to be induced which I heard was more painful but I didn’t have anything to compare it to so I thought it was fine. So this time, I’m not worried about the birth. The real work starts once the baby is home! 😂
