Weaning 17 month old from breastfeeding??

Question

So we are on day 11 of no nursing 💃🏽 and my daughter still tugs on my shirt, has meltdowns and tantrums when she doesn't get it.. if I even ask "where's your cup?" She starts screaming!!  how long does it take for the milk to dry up ? Any suggestions to help her not want to nurse since we stil do co sleep?? I'm no longer engorged but milk must still be in there if she is asking for it right ??

I totally get this struggle. It will calm down soon, but we weaned 4 months ago and my son STILL tries to reach for my boobs for comfort. He did stop crying for them within a few weeks though. It’s probably less that your kiddo “knows” there’s milk and more that the attachment/comfort/associations are deeply ingrained. Just stay strong! Sending you hopes for a speedy end to the clinginess.

I used whoppers as an aversion, not so healthy but it worked. I only gave them to her when she wanted to nurse. I think after two weeks of this nonsense, she was fine so much so that just stared at my chest when I changed shirts in front of her.  It was funny watching her facial expressions 😁 Anyway, hang in there!
