Braxton Hicks? Or something else?

Hi I’m 29+6 and for the last week I have had mild cramps that feel almost like period cramps, are these the beginnings of braxton hicks or something else? 
Any advice/experience would be helpful.

I experienced them from roughly 30 weeks on and off. They do feel like period cramps. I mentioned it to my midwife and was just told they are getting your body ready for the real deal. But if they were to become quite painful, rather than just uncomfortable then to phone her. They carried on right up until my real contractions started. Hope this helps a little x
