WAHM do you find you still need childcare?

I absolutely need childcare. I’ve had my son home with me a few times when daycare’s closed or he’s a little sick and I still worked and it is so so difficult. When he was a newborn it was hard to feed him, burp him, rock him to sleep while I was trying to work. As he’s gotten older he can entertain himself for a few minutes but he gets really frustrated that I’m not paying attention to him, he can’t comprehend that I’m working so he can eat, he just whines at me and tries to climb all over me then gets mad at me because I won’t leave the desk. It’s so hard, I feel like the crappiest parent when I keep him home with me. At daycare he gets the attention he deserves, he gets to do fun activities I don’t have the time for while I’m working, and he’s definitely more supervised and safe. I also work a productivity-based job (medical coding) so I’m expected to get a certain amount of work done each day and him being there distracting me definitely hurts my ability to do my job well.

100% need childcare.
It’s actually in our requirements for telecommuter employees.
If I hear a kid, they get investigated and if I find out they are working from home without childcare their employment is terminated immediately.
I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything with my kiddo at home anyway.  I’m way too busy ajdnhave too many meetings I’m hosting

I’m not due until April, but i work from home and if I didn’t have family near by I know I would definitely need childcare. I would say it depends on the type of work you do and how flexible your schedule is. I am an auditor for a health insurance company and I’m on calls all day so it would be nearly impossible for me not to have some sort of help.
