I have a 9 year old with very thick butt-length hair, an 8 year old with a Mohawk and a newborn. Plus my own very thick hair and my SOs Afro and beard. My older kids just returned from a 2 week visit at their Dad’s yesterday and his mom called me to say that she found lice in his stepdaughter’s hair today. I called the school nurse and she said she’ll check them for it, but hasn’t called back yet so idk if we have to worry about it yet or not.

My question being.... if one or both of my older kids have lice, what tips/tricks do you have for keeping them from spreading to everybody and what advice for treatment? I haven’t had to deal with lice since I was in kindergarten, idk what to do

Update: thanks for the tips everyone. My 9 year old does have lice, her grandma offered to take her to treat it since I have a newborn and limited time. Cleaning everything else they came into contact with.
