I get similar results to this just wetting, oiling, sectioning off my hair into 4-6 parts and braiding it before bed at night, wrapping it in a silk scarf, and letting it dry. 
It's less perfect, and you have to experiment a little, but it's way better for your hair and not permanent, in case you hate it.

You should get one to try it out, only do it about every 6 months or can be damaging,
It will start to fall out but you can still have that naturally wavy curl to your style.
