C-section with a toddler?!?

My doctor is suggesting a C-section, I’m due end of April and at that time my daughter will be 22months! Any one have experience with dealing with recovering from a C-section with a toddler?

it's difficult but manageable (I've done it twice, once with a 21 month old and the second time with a 22 month old and one just under 4). if you can get somebody to help for the first week or 2 that helps significantly. you won't be able to lift your toddler for the first 6 weeks so it is easier if you transition to a toddler bed before baby comes. always have a pillow nearby while you are healing, it makes a good barricade if your toddler tends to jump up on you.

I’m on the same boat. I have a toddler as well and I’ll be having a c-section end of April as well because I have a narrow pelvis. I’m definitely going to need my husband to ask for a week off work for him to help me.

Not a C-section, but I had laparoscopy to remove an ectopic with an 18 month old and a 3.5 year old in the house. You will need help. Between my husband and neighbor, I had someone to help almost 24/7 for the first several day, but my recovery did not take as long. I was fortunate that my daughter was a climber, so she could climb up in my lap to nurse, and a boppy pillow was just enough cushion to protect me. On the other hand, my experience with perfectly normal vaginal births is that you need help with the older sibs for a couple of weeks, so probably want to find good help either way!

I did it my son was 2 when my daughter was born it wasn't that bad. he was very smart and was able to understand that I had a boo boo and couldn't pick him up and he would just snuggle with me
