Went through a very long latent labor phase with this lil guy off and on all week. Went in to l&d; last night to hopefully find I was progressing or get something to let me sleep after being up with contractions for 2 nights. I was at a 3 so I was really hoping to just get some rest but nurse said to walk for 2 hours and come back to check. Which I was certain and said wouldn't do anything because apparently stop and go labor makes me cranky. She said walk anyways but not down the long hall on one in case my water broke. So naturally down the long hall on one we went to use the stairs down there to walk up and down. Got to the bottom of the stairs after going up once squatted into a contraction and my water broke. Back we went and I was at a 5 at which time fear kicked in and I quickly decided to go for the epidural. An hour and a half after water breaking they came in the room to do the epidural as Hubby was running out to get a nurse because I was fairly certain I was crowning. Confirmed and I looked at my husband and said I can't do this like 5 times in a row. Doc got set up just in time for me to push twice and he was in my arms. So blessed with my husband he has been amazing with both labors supporting me and reminding me of the strong woman I can be. I love my family and I'm so excited to have a new member to fill it with even more love.
