What age should people have sex?

Hi I’m in high school and I’m in a relationship with a person one year older than me. I’m wondering what would be an appropriate age to have sex. Comment the age please!

There’s no specific age, it’s when you feel ready. You need to be mature enough to protect yourself first and know that’s there’s a chance of pregnancy. There’s also trusting the person who your having sex with, is he a fuck boy or does he want a relationship. I lost my virginity at 17 to my now husband. At that time I will say I was ready because I trusted the man I was with and truly loved him.

It really depends on the person. I know for me, I don’t necessarily have to be married but I would want to feel very secure and comfortable in a long term relationship before taking that step. I’m currently 19 and a virgin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I was in high school I decided that I wouldn’t have sex until I was sure I could handle all of the possible consequences that go along with it. If I got an STD, got pregnant, or he decided he wanted nothing to do with me afterward I wanted to make sure I could physically, emotionally, logistically, and financially handle any or all of those things. 
It was also important to me that I loved and trusted the guy I was with. I started dating him when I was 14, we lost our virginity to each other when we were 17, and we got married at 21. Now we are 23 and still married. It was never a goal for me to only be with one person or to marry the guy I lost my virginity to, but I feel like I was cautious and responsible about sex and it worked out that way.
Not that my way is the only way or the best way. But I can honestly say I have no regrets about sex.

It depends on the person you are with and if you feel ready deep inside. I was in the same situation as you, in high school with a boyfriend, he was 18 and I was 17. But I would have regretted for an eternity if I had had sex with him because after one year I found out that he was a terrible person. And he could hide it that long. So I dumped him although we were already planning to do it. Not saying that your bf is also an asshole but get to know that man. I wish you a happy life. 😚

I’m in high school too. I am saying that when you two are both ready. When you two can discuss having sex with each other without feeling weird shows you are maturing. But it takes more to actually be mature about it. I will admit that I made wrong sex choices cuz I was not ready. Don’t make that mistake. Take as much time as you need before hand. And don’t let him pressure you into it. But you will realize when you are ready for job just talk to him about it and you can possibly not feel as anxious about it when it happens. My advice. Take your time to make sure you both ready.

I agree it depends on you and the person. It’s a big step to make the choice and have sex. For me I lost my virginity last year to my current bf and I can say that when I made the decision I felt comfortable and ready and I trusted him which is very important because I know you don’t wanna regret your decision but it all depends on you and him. Make sure to have the talk before you actually do so he understands how you feel and that he knows your ready or when you will be.
