I haven’t voted because although I don’t find it weird as it’s quite common to be called that back where I’m from I don’t think it’s sweet. 
I’d rather be called by my name in company and cute nicknames in private (eg: baby, sweetie, darling).
However it is up to you what you find sweet and no one else.
