To induce labor, Take EPO or Not?

Conflicted point of views in my family, 
Doctor says I’ll be induced if I don’t have this baby.
Sister in law swears by evening primrose oil, plus it can potentially make labor easier? 
Mom says “don’t do anything to force your baby out” (but induction is forcing the baby out in my opinion)

It 100% does not induce labor. It can HELP soften your cervix in preparation for labor. But will not cause labor.

Took it for the past week once or twice orally mostly I inserted vaginally to help me efface. Water broke 2 nights ago and baby was born 1.5hr later. I do think it helped me efface but no way to know of course.

My midwife urged me to take it from 36 weeks on to help my cervix get ready, but she stressed that baby will come when they're ready. I'm also eating 6 dates a day (not my favorite -wY too sweet) and drinking her recipe of pregnancy tea with red raspberry, oatstraw, alfalfa, and stinging nettle. I had a LEEP so any help to the cervix, I'll try.
