Baby showers
I was asked the other day if I am having a baby shower for #2. I had planned one for baby #1 but nobody turned up on the day after rsvping and then calling with excuses on the day.
I told my friend no and why, I didn’t get to celebrate my son until his first birthday and he was my rainbow baby after a heartbreaking loss prior so it was very depressing and hurtful.
This will be my last pregnancy and I am conflicted. I don’t want to go through all the cost and effort to be disappointed again.
What would you do have a shower or not.
Update: In reply to questions. For my last baby I had no one who was able to help with coats or food, I had a friend who hosted the party at my place but she did not have money and I did not expect her to provide a party for me. This time my sister now lives closer but I don’t think she would help out in that way either. So no I would have to provide everything again.
