Is 98.8 a fever or normal??

My baby had her shots last week and got no fever. Now here comes Thursday and she’s coughing and stuff. It started yesterday and today her teacher told me she was coughing and stuff. So today i took her temperature under her arm and it said 98.8. And i asked around and looked up online and I’m just getting different answers. I wanna give her some medicine her doctor prescribed last week for a fever but I’m not sure.

98.8 is normal. My daughter's doctor considers a fever to be over 100.4

Anything over 100.5 is cause to call your on call nurse. I believe once they hit a certain age threshold that number goes to 101 but I’m not sure. Your baby’s temp is normal and not a fever.
