Should I give my bf baby vitamins?

We went for our 6 month checkup and he wanted to give us vitamins. I don’t have anything against vitamins but if I’m making healthy baby food and bf you would think that would be good enough.

Did you ask why he felt it was necessary

Maybe it's just a precaution? Just in case you're low on something like iron or magnesium? I know we still take prenatal vitamins but maybe you have a cautious pediatrician who wants to make sure baby is getting a full amount of the essentials.

I’ve always given mine vitamin D drops but that’s it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Which vitamins in particular? I know my doctor recommended vitamin D drops, but they make my baby extremely gassy and fussy so I’ve decided to instead increase my vitamin D intake so it will get passed on to her via breastmilk. You have to take a lot though—about 6,400IU apparently, according to Kelly Mom https://kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/vitamin-d-and-breastfeeding/
