Skyla IUD
After having a surprise pregnancy ending in miscarriage December 1st last year, my SO and I decided to try birth control until we're more financially stable. I used to have the Paraguard IUD, and loved it despite the worse periods. Unfortunately, 3 years in I had to have it removed because it shifted and could perforate my uterus. Now, I'm looking at the Skyla IUD. Personally I really don't like hormones in my birth control, but with how terrible my Paraguard periods were, I didn't want to go back to them with my options. My gyno recommended the Skyla, low dose hormones, makes periods better, all that jazz. I made an appointment, and it was set. Now that the date is approaching, I was nervous and told my SO about it. He then told me he thinks I shouldn't get an IUD at all! With my history of cysts and newly formed fibroids, he's worried about Skyla causing infertility. Especially since he already has a low sperm count. Any advice or personal experience with Skyla? I'm ready for good and bad stories, so please don't hold back!
