When did you move your baby to their own room?

I know recommended is at least 6 months just curious what others did.

7 months and he sleeps better. He would constantly wake up if he was in our room.

We started with daytime naps at around 4/5 months and then at 6 months in his own room. You have to be ready though. The first couple of nights was hard, but then it’s so nice to have our own space back and not have to tip toe around at bedtime.

13 months, when she was weaned and started sleeping through the night.

My first was 3 weeks because I am such a light sleeper that I wasn’t sleeping at all with her in my room - although when she was in the other room I had the monitor on loud as a just incase. My second happened when we went on holiday and he had to share the room with his sister, he was about 4/5 months and again had the monitor on loud. They now share a room, until we can move so they can have their own rooms, (3 and 8months). I understand the reasoning behind the guidelines but I think if you know yourself and your baby well enough (plus depending on how well they sleep and you sleep) it’s up to you when you move them? I know some people who have kept their baby in their room until after baby’s first birthday. But if you’re careful and comfortable, there’s no reason why you can’t move them whenever you’re ready, plus it doesn’t have to be a solid change, you could do it in stages if you wanted to?? Just as long as you’re happy with it 👍🏻

My LO has been in her own room since day one but I’ve been in there with her (hubby snores BADLY so for all of our sake). She’s just turned 4 months and I’m still in there but thinking I’ll be moving back now she’s in a cot and sleeping through the night.
