Still born?

My baby came out purple and not breathing. My husband said she started breathing once they cut the cord. But aren't they supposed to cry right when they come out?

Still born would refer to a child that died in the womb and was born not alive. Your child is alive, sometimes the cord gets wrapped or babies need extra help.

It depends. Some don’t immediately cry and they almost all come out purple/blue.

No lol. My son came out purple and they had to unwrap the cord before he started crying and that's not like un-normal. Still born means your child is dead.

My baby didn’t cry I had to ask if she was okay haha... she was pretty purple when she was born but I think that is normal.

yes, they usually cry when they are born. but if your baby is alive and breathing now then they would not be considered stillborn. it sounds like you had a close call though. I'm glad your baby started breathing!
