Do most women TTC track their ovulation? Husband is annoyed that I’m “taking the romance out” of TTC.

Husband is annoyed that I’ve been reading up on ovulation and basal temp tracking.  We’ve been talking about TTC this year.  I’m in my 30s, but regardless, I feel like it’s common to track ovulation once a couple decides to try. Is this not true?  He is annoyed that I’m “taking the romance out” of TTC.  I’m sure most folks using this forum track ovulation, but how about generally among all your friends/coworkers/neighbors/family/etc? I feel ridiculous for having to defend myself on this point.

I didn’t use opks. Since I downloaded the app (Glow) a few years ago just to track my period, I started tracking cm/cp daily. It took a couple months and Glow was pretty well lined up with predicting ovulation days that lined up with my cm/cp. According to some of the answers I’m seeing I guess we never really started “trying” then. My husband decided it was time we started trying, he was no longer going to withdrawal, and I never told him when I was ovulating because so many women here often talk about pressure to perform affecting their SO’s. We continued having sex per usual, I just made sure to engage a little more during the fertile times. My cycles averaged anywhere from 28-42 days, I stared taking prenatals 3 months in to us “not trying” and we conceived the 4th month. Not everyone tracks, some just play the when it happens it happens game...but for those that say you HAVE to track to be “trying,” if you’re not preventing at all then aren’t you trying? 🤔

just don't tell him....it can be stressful for the guy. you keep track and when its time to DTD just get him fired up lol

I tracked, I went out of the way to hide my pee cup and sticks when I was tracking so that he had no idea if I was or wasn’t ovulating. Literally the first month I stopped telling him we got pregnant. Stress can effect them while TTC. Don’t tell him and have fun with it, you will be less stressed if he’s less stressed.

I used opks the month after I had a chemical because I wasn’t sure what my cycle was going to be like like. If it was going to be “normal”, late or early. 
I have a 28 day cycle so I knew when to expect ovulation. Also, I never told my hubs I bought the opks. I bought them for my own peace of mind. 
From the app, I see a lot of women stressing due to tracking opks and bbt. I did not want that. We wanted to enjoy ttc and each other and not make it a “chore” and only gave sex when a test told us too.

I tracked and didn't tell him. I was afraid it was gonna be too stressful for him and make him want to stop trying. Right up until it made me feel too alone in this process and I said something to him, he apparently knew I was tracking all that stuff and wondered why I wasn't comfortable telling him. I ended up downloading Ovia and it emails him when it says I'm fertile, so he knows without me bothering.

My DH and I have to have pretty open communication during my fertile window. He has low T, so there are extra steps taken. Either way sex for us has to be an open platform to talk. I really think it depends on the couple. I really think in my husband’s mind, it just solidifies the fact he is going to laid. He doesn’t have to guess.

I didn’t tell my husband, they don’t need to know. I would also avoid “I’m ovulating so we need to have sex tonight and the night after tomorrow” etc. Just seduce him and have really great sex together - men get uptight or have performance anxiety when they feel like you’re only having sex to make a baby.

If you are ttc, you kinda have to track or you aren’t really “trying” imo.  Now you don’t need to tell your partner and can just let things naturally evolve during fertile window with your partner. Luckily if you just even do it 1 time close to ovulation, you have a good chance.
