Blocking pee from kicky boys?

Lol the subject line is a bit odd I know but for real any boy moms out there have tips on preventing the dreaded pee shooting incidents while changing diapers? My boy has a bit of a diaper rash right now and I think part of the problem is we haven’t been allowing enough time for his bum to dry before putting on another diaper because we so frequently get peed on. I’ve tried placing things over it to prevent him shooting us with pee but he kicks a lot when he’s being changed so he usually ends up just kicking things off. 😅
