Miscarriage Counts as a Period?

I recently miscarried at almost six weeks and am trying to figure out my next fertile window and update the app. Does anyone know if the time I was miscarrying counts as a period? Husband and I were so excited so just looking for some hope on when we can start trying again. We live in a small town and the doctor has been out so haven’t been able to speak to him since the miscarriage.

Hi Elizabeth, my husband and I just miscarried on Sunday (this was our first pregnancy) and I was almost 6 weeks as well. I’m almost done bleeding but my doctor told me to consider this last Sunday as CD 1. She told me as soon as I stopped bleeding, we could start trying again if we wanted and the only reason they suggest waiting to start is so it’s easier to date the next pregnancy. My plan is to track ovulation starting the end of this week to see if it matches how I used to ovulate before getting pregnant last month. Hoping for a rainbow baby soon :)

You should ovulate 2-4 weeks after your miscarriage. I entered the date of my D&C; in as my period. I recommend waiting a cycle or using ovulation sticks to better predict ovulation until you've had a period. your body might take some time to adjust to a normal cycle again
