My 2 week old is having a lot trouble attaching to the breast, when I finally do attach her she constantly falls asleep while feeding. She rarely feeds longer than 5 mins on each breast.. that is if I can wake her up enough to feed off the other breast. I have seen a lactation consultant about this. She recommend me to use nipple shields she feeds a little better but not much.

She is wanting to feed every 1-2 hours during the night. During the day I can get away with feeding her every 3 hours sometimes. How do I get her to go at least 3 hours during the night?

She feeds fairly quickly (due to her falling asleep) so maybe she’s not getting enough at one time?
