sperm life expectancy?

so I've read sperm lasts 3 days, then read it lasts 5 days. i am just curious. currently TTC #2 and with BD every day at least once I should have enough sperm to last through my fertile week right? I mean I plan to bd every day still but just in case. (plus it's always fun to bd when TTC or not) lol

I think realistically it will last 2 or 3 days .. they say 5 days.. if you are in your fertile week and everything is right . .Like the health of the sperm .. the health of your vaginal environment..and sperms will live only in fertile cervical mucus ...

I used to believe that sperm only survived 3 - 5 days, and my fiancé and I planned our intimacy around that time frame in hopes of avoiding pregnancy. Well, guess what? I'm living proof, and my midwife confirmed it, that if conditions are right inside the woman's body, sperm can most definitely survive for 7 days. We were intimate one night, thinking after 5 days it'll have all died off and we'd be back in the clear by the time ovulation day came around. Nope! Not that time! Unbeknownst to us, conditions were perfect, and the sperm was still thriving on ovulation day, exactly 7 days later. We had no idea until 5wks 2days later when I was in the Publix bathroom, after just dropping my fiancé off at work, and I discovered that I had just miscarried. I told my fiancé all about it when I picked him up from work that might. Even though we had been trying to avoid pregnancy, the loss still hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was a mess of all sorts of unexpected emotions for weeks. Especially because I was actually able to hold it in my hand before saying goodbye..... Thankfully my fiancé was a huge help being there for me during that time. We talked about another little one, and we'll be TTC in August this year. Anyway, the point is that sperm absolutely can live longer than 5 days if the bodily conditions are right. So be careful if you're not actually TTC.
