how long to take a test

I had what I suspected to be implantation bleeding when I went to the toilet yesterday I had a few drops of light pink blood and it lasted a minute if that my period was due a week yesterday. how Long after could I test if it was this I've had very mild cramps that come and go they are not there now, I have never experienced light pink spotting before been ttc 2 years
