When to tell people?

I just want to see what everyone's feelings are on when the best time is to start telling people about a pregnancy. At what point would you tell family and friends, let bosses know at work, tell step children or other young children in the family, or announce on social media?

I told everyone right away. I was so excited! Plus I have always felt that if I were to loose a baby I would want the support and understanding of those around me.

Wait atleast until after 12 weeks so the miscarriage risk is decreased significantly.

I told everyone right away. I didn’t see the point in waiting...for me, personally I just felt like anything could happen at anytime, 12 weeks, 4 weeks, 27 weeks, full term...so why wait.

Honestly, whenever your comfortable.... I told my husband son and a couple very close friends right after my positive... we told the in laws a wk before my first apt because we were at their house and had a big surprise for them. My work knew before 9 wks because I’m high risk and was put out of work before 9 wks. But with a normal healthy pregnancy I wouldn’t tell work till around 12 ish wks. And then the rest of my family found out when I posted on social media after my first apt. For me it would have been helpful had anything gone wrong to have my family and friends know about it. I’m bi polar and not on meds as I can’t take them while ttc or while pregnant so to have support had anything gone wrong would have been nice. But for some people they don’t want everyone to know if they had a miscarriage.

I decided to wait to tell most everyone, and I'm glad I did. I had a miscarriage yesterday.

I'm waiting until my 12 week mark. I've already lost 2 pregnancies before the 2nd trimester and if it happens again I don't want anyone asking a million questions.
