1st IUI
Went for our first IUI this morning. Took clomid CD5-9 had follicles checked on CD 10. Had one at 16mm and the rest were 8 and 10. Did trigger shot on cd 13. Felt ovulation cramping this morning. I have to say the IUI did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. We got there at 830, my partner gave his sample, and then we had to wait an hour. We were not notified about the wait before hand, normally I wouldn’t care... but I had to work at 10 so I was stressed about that. Then they finally take us in at 945 and the nurse who was doing the IUI had no idea what she was doing. She tried one speculum after I had told her my uterus is tilted, so they normally use a different one. So she tried that for 5 min, then switched to the one I told her she would need. Then she found my cervix finally... she pushed the catheter threw and I didn’t have the pinch that I was expecting. She knew she didn’t get it past my cervix, so she decided to take it out and go get another nurse to help. So I had three speculum and two catheters inside me before they finally got past my cervix to release the sample. I just felt like they were playing with my chances allowing the first nurse to do the IUI. We have invested a lot of money into this since my insurance doesn’t cover any of it. I need to know the person doing it knows 100% how to do it! Feeling like I have little hope this time.. we have decided to call another doctors office if this doesn’t stick. Anyone else have experiences like this? I left there in tears.
