Son won’t eat 😞

My son is almost 2, will be in about a month. He will not eat unless it’s sugar or something like chicken nuggets or fries. It’s been like this for 2 weeks. I don’t want him to starve or be hungry but he won’t eat. Today, he has eaten a pack of 6 peanut butter crackers and that’s it, it’s 3pm. I made him chicken, rice and sweet potatoes which he LOVES but wouldn’t eat it, wanted to play. So I took it and put it in the fridge and he screamed and cried, banging his head on the floor because I took it. What’s going on with him?? Last night I made him something he loves, and he dumped it all over the floor, he didn’t eat all day and it was 9pm, time for bed. Crying because he’s hungry but not eating. He ended up eating 2 onion rings and a cheese stick but that’s it. Should I not feed him the things he wants and let him go hungry until he eats what I make? That sounds cruel and I don’t want that. Or should I just give him what he’ll eat and hope he stops this? I don’t want to encourage this eating behavior. But I heard kids go through this stage where they only eat junk food? Help!

I should also add that he doesn’t eat veggies alone, it has to be cooked into things, and finely chopped so he can’t taste them, which I do but he won’t eat what I make. He also won’t eat fruit. He simply wants sugar, nuggets, onion rings, fries, pizza, etc. anything that’s bad for you basically.
