Relationship help!!

This guy and I have been talking for about a month now and we finally got together over a week ago and we went to dinner and talked for like 3.5 hours and it literally felt like 20 minuets and we went back to my apartment and continued talking and we watched a movie and ended up having sex(which is what I wanted and it felt super natural with him) and he ended up staying the night. He’s been over a couple more times since then and had sex again and then this last time we didn’t but we made out and he slept over both times... so the part I need help with is that he gets super distant when we’re not together and it’s like pulling teeth to get him to reply to any messages and he will read them and purposely not reply even though when we’re together in person it seems as though we’ve known each other for ever. I would like to talk to him about what his intentions are and if he is just looking to hook up or if he potentially wants a relationship. I would like a relationship but I don’t want to wait around and end up getting hurt because he just wants sex. I just need help on how I should bring this up(it would be in person tonight).
