Summer baby clothes?

So far we are a winter family, all born in the cold! I'm having my first Summer baby and I'm wondering how do you dress a newborn in the summer. Do you still do hats and gloves and onesies that cover feet, or do you put on short sleeve type of things? idk how warm a baby needs to be kept and I want to start buying a few things already. Summer mommas help please!

Onesies, thin little pants. Nothing too thick. Summer hats that keep the sun out of their faces. Main thing to remember is just thin clothing. What will help is that stores mainly cover weather appropriate clothing depending on what season it is that you go out and buy clothing

I have two children - born in March and April, now pregnant with #3 and due in July. I plan to buy mostly light, summer clothes, but also clothes that can be layered because many places have strong air conditioning, it can get chilly at night (at least where I am located it does) or when it rains, etc. plus good to have blankets and booties. I think the mits are always important to keep them from scratching themselves, but mostly when they are sleeping.

I was always told that if you’re warm, so is the baby.  I always just put my lo in a onesie for her first summer

Little one is not a summer baby technically. She was born in December but were in south Florida so close enough lol. We used the little mitts to prevent her from scratching her face. A regular onesie and light pants with socks and a thin hat. I think it was 74 degrees out and sunny the day we came home.

My son was born August 7th and his whole 2 first months of life he lived in onesies. I put him in a little romper once, but it was too hot.

We were in Kansas for summer and baby was mostly in a short sleeve onesie but he also preferred to be cooler

My doctor always said as a rule of thumb just 1 more layer than what you have on. But some babies get to hot, down get too cold. I'm sure you will figure your baby out when the time comes (: Also too much sun is bad for baby too. Make sure to keep he/she in the shade.
