Are stretch and sweeps painful?

So im 39+6 and I'm booked in for a sweep in two days and I'm not knowing what to expect pain wise. Is it actually painful or is it  just uncomfortable 😩

Sweep was excruciatingly painful for me. Shot me up the bed. 😫

First sweep was horrendous, thought her hand was gonna come out my mouth. Second was uncomfortable, but worked! Started labour within 24 hours x

I had two with first pregnancy and one with second pregnancy. they aren't nice but they do help things along. if you really don't want it then don't have it. also you don't have to be induced by 42 weeks. you can opt for daily monitoring after 42 weeks and try and let baby come naturally (before 43 weeks), if you want to. they just don't give you this information.

Had a sweep, was fine. Set my labour off 6 hours later. Easy peasy 5 hour labour with just gas and air... praying this time round is the same!

I had one at 40 weeks and it was uncomfortable but not painful. I was already 5cm though, so maybe because my cervix was already stretched it didn't hurt as much as it would if you were closed? I have no idea, but if I'm offered it again this time I will x

I’ve had sweeps in both pregnancies and neither of them hurt. Uncomfortable but not painful.
