How long did it take for you to learn to curl your hair?

I've tried curlers and just using my straighteners so many times I've lost count but it never works! I've watched so many youtube videos trying to copy them and can't work out where I'm going wrong?!
I'll randomly get one section perfect but then not be able to do it again anywhere else on my head 🤦‍♀️

I use the flexible rods.they are the only thing that will keep my hair curled all day. My hair is long and thick and if I use a wand or curling iron it falls out in a couple hours no matter how much hair spray I use. If I use the rods I leave them in over night with some sort of curling product in my hair. They are uncomfortable to sleep in but the curls come out so perfect and stay all day.

it took me from 7th grade to 11th grade to be able to curl stands of hair good and consistently

I use a wand and twist the hair onto the wand away from my face. I separate my hair into sections and spray each section when I'm done. When it's all done, I run my fingers through it all then spray a final time when I like how it looks.

I just use a straightener. works well. my hair has a medium thickness so it won't stay unless I hair spray as I go

I use a $25 wand, I curl my hair and then pin it up & spray it with hairspray. I do my makeup & don’t take the pins out until last minute. Sometimes I’ll heat the pinned up curls on high heat, then switch to cold.. then take the pins out. But I have really thick long hair so it’s a process 🤦🏻‍♀️
