Finger tip dilated?

I’ve been having some pain so my doctor checked me today and they said my cervix was still high and I’m “maybe a finger tip dilated” what’s that even supposed to mean? I’m 34w 5d

Your cervix is open about as much as the tip of your finger. So you’re not really dilated.

Well sounds like you are on track. I was maybe 1cm at 35 weeks which isn’t abnormal to be for a while.
In all my pregnancies I’ve been 1cm for weeks until I finally progressed like the day I was gonna deliver.

Thanks all. I knew it meant I was only a little dilated but wasn’t sure about how much it actually meant lol hopefully baby will come before my scheduled c-section so I can try for a vbac!
