I missed 6 pills then stopped taking them completely for this month I got a short period which was not on my usual day but I had sex one day after my period could I be pregnant? We’ve been trying for a baby for so long

It takes your body a while to get completely over birth control. Because it’s a pill, just like other medications. 
I have heard that it doubles in months for birth control. So, if you take it for 2months it stays in the system for a total of 4 months after you stop taking it.
